Leaders need to be prepared to demonstrate discipline and work harder than the people they are leading. Leaders need to demonstrate the core values of being a servant. Leaders must be prepared to always illustrate paths for new horizons, and help others reinvent models for succeeding in their aspirations – personally and professionally. A leader must demonstrate the resilience to stand firm, keep calm and carry out the plan. Leaders need to have a sense of appreciation in the process of leading; as is an honor and a privilege.
Leaders need to know about Love, i.e. love of work, love the people you work with, love yourself as a leader, and as a person. Love the nobility of serving others to accomplish great things, and finally love those who aren’t quite abroad on the same team as you are. Lastly, leaders must always demonstrate faith.
In essence, a leader is a: Coach, Mentor, Teacher, Pastor, Priest, Rabbi, An Executive, Parent, Friend, and Counselor. Your presence and your actions starting today is what will make you a leader.
